Upon arrival at Tirana International Airport, you will be welcomed by your driver and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Tirana.
After check-in, the remainder of the day is free to relax after your journey or begin exploring the surrounding area depending on your arrival time.
Tirana, Albania’s capital and largest city, is a fascinating combination of history and modern urban life.
The city became the capital of Albania in 1920 and has since developed into the country’s cultural, political, and economic centre.
Today, Tirana is known for its colourful buildings, lively cafés, pedestrian areas and wide public squares. At the heart of the city lies Skanderbeg Square, named after Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg.
Around the city centre, visitors can discover a mixture of Ottoman, Italian and communist-era architecture alongside modern restaurants, cafés and shopping areas.
🏨 Overnight: Tirana
After breakfast, depart by private vehicle for Krujë, one of Albania’s most historically important towns.
Located on the slopes of Mount Krujë, the town offers beautiful views over the surrounding landscape and has played an important role in Albanian history.
Krujë is closely associated with Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, who led resistance against the Ottoman Empire during the 15th century.
The impressive Krujë Castle became one of the main centres of this resistance and remains one of the country’s most symbolic historical landmarks.
Around the castle area, you can wander through the charming Old Bazaar of Krujë, one of Albania’s oldest traditional marketplaces.
Its stone-paved streets are lined with small shops selling local handicrafts, carpets, traditional products, antiques and souvenirs, making it one of the most atmospheric areas of the town.
After exploring Krujë, return to Tirana.
Spend time discovering the capital’s central districts, cafés, shops and lively streets before returning to your hotel.
🏨 Overnight: Tirana
Today you travel north to Shkodër, one of the oldest cities in Albania and an important gateway to the spectacular landscapes of the Albanian Alps.
Shkodër has been an important cultural and commercial centre for centuries.
The area has a history stretching back to ancient Illyrian times and later developed under Roman, Venetian and Ottoman influence.
One of the city’s most famous landmarks is Rozafa Castle, dramatically positioned on a hill overlooking the surrounding rivers and countryside.
The castle is also connected to one of Albania’s best-known legends — the story of Rozafa — which has been passed down through generations.
The centre of Shkodër offers a very different atmosphere, with pedestrian streets, cafés and architecture reflecting the city’s long history and cultural importance.
Continue toward the peaceful village of Shirokë, located along the shores of Lake Shkodër.
The lake sits on the border between Albania and Montenegro and is the largest lake in Southern Europe, surrounded by mountains, wetlands and small traditional communities.
Shirokë provides a relaxing contrast to the city, with beautiful lake views and restaurants overlooking the water.
Enjoy some time appreciating the scenery before returning to Tirana.
🏨 Overnight: Tirana
Today combines two completely different sides of Albania: the historic architecture of Berat and the Adriatic atmosphere of Durrës.
Berat is one of Albania’s most beautiful and historically significant cities.
Its historic centre is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, recognised for its remarkably preserved architecture and the coexistence of different cultural and religious communities throughout history.
Berat is famously known as the “City of a Thousand Windows”, a nickname inspired by the distinctive rows of traditional Ottoman houses built along its hillsides.
The historic districts of Mangalem and Gorica, separated by the Osum River, create one of Albania’s most recognisable cityscapes.
Above the city stands Berat Castle, whose origins stretch back many centuries. Unlike many European castles, the fortified area has historically contained homes, churches and neighbourhood streets within its walls.
Walking through Berat provides a glimpse into Albania’s long and layered history while also offering some of the most photogenic views of the journey.
After Berat, continue toward Durrës, one of Albania’s oldest cities and one of its most important coastal destinations.
Located on the Adriatic Sea, Durrës has been an important port for more than two thousand years.
Founded in antiquity, the city later became an important centre during the Roman period due to its strategic position connecting the Adriatic coast with the Balkans.
Today, Durrës combines archaeological heritage with beaches, waterfront areas, restaurants and modern city life.
Enjoy some time by the coast before returning to Tirana.
🏨 Overnight: Tirana
Your final day introduces you to another side of Tirana: the mountains surrounding the Albanian capital.
Located just outside the city, Mount Dajti is one of the most popular natural escapes for residents and visitors to Tirana.
The mountain forms part of Dajti National Park and offers forests, fresh mountain air and panoramic viewpoints overlooking Tirana and the surrounding landscape.
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some time in the area before beginning your journey to the airport.
Your private driver will then transfer you to Tirana International Airport for your departure flight.
